SkyWatch Friday

SkyWatch Friday was Dot's idea originally. Thanks Dot and my thanks also to The SkyWatch team which is now managed by Tom, Sandy, IMAC, Klaus, Ivar, Wren and Fishing Guy.

Please click on their icon above to join in and post your own photos or have fun visiting other participants from all over the world. I love nothing better than visiting other countries through their spectacular photographs.

I wasn't sure whether I would be able to participate in this week's SkyWatch, but thanks to the gentleman who worked on my computer, and also to my darling husband who picked it up on his way home from work, here I am.

My photos this week were taken on our journey back from Virginia Beach a little while ago. This factory makes cardboard boxes. The photo at the bottom is the view from our hotel balcony the morning we left.

The close-up of the moon above the steam stacks.

You shots of the cardboard mill made me think of our papermill here in Powell River. At first I didn't think it was very attractive, but after living here since 2001 it has a character of its own. I invite you to come meet Mr. Boo for a Halloween wish. - Margy

I love the steam coming from the smoke stacks...at least I think it is steam. I just took photos similiar to these last weekend.

And your last shot is a great capture.

An interesting range of shots! Especially love the rays of light breaking through the clouds in the last one!

All four nice shots, needless to say I preferred the last two with the moon and wonderful light effect. Factories in my scale don't rate higher than a 2 out of 10 although these were nice shots.

Denise: I must say I like the rays beaming down through the clouds the best.

Denise, when the winter lasts too long, say in January, I wish to live on the other hemisphere or in Greece or Southern Italy where it is warmer.
How is your winter?

Hello Denise, I enjoyed reading your profile. I like the photos of the smokestack. I know they are pollutants but they still look pretty.

I saw a smokestack on the way to North Carolina. I thought it was as interesting as the clouds. I told my husband to stop so I can take a better photograph. I thought I was crazy to ask him to stop in the middle of the Interstate highway.

Fine selection.

although i am imagining the pollution that these chimneys may spew out, you caught them in a good light - the smoke is a cloudy colour, which brightens up the photo considerably!

Nice photos ! But the first and the second ones are not "clear" with the smok...

Hi Rambler!! I love your cloud-filtered light picture! The moon shot is also especially good - you remember my struggle with capturing a moon shot (sigh). Thanks for stopping by my place - love seeing you over there. And I'm totally impressed by your flower pictures. They're so clear and vibrant. See you around on the blog!

Denise, these sky pictures are great, and especially the last. But they are all such interesting perspectives with the cardboard mill. Love it. I hope your computer problems are over....I have been having some yesterday and today and tried to post this comment last night....hopefully I will be successful today. :)
